Public Release 8-17-18

For Immediate Release

August 17, 2018

Dear Fleming Countians,

This afternoon, the school district received information regarding an indirect and unsubstantiated threat, from outside the district, pertaining to tonight’s home football game against Harrison County. Once we received the information, we immediately began working closely with local authorities. Though the threat is unsubstantiated, we are implementing additional protocols and increasing security at tonight’s football game.

We want to thank the student who notified school administrators who then immediately followed the district’s protocols regarding threats.  We do not take threats lightly and we investigate all information that is provided to us.

We encourage everyone to come out and support the Panthers as they take the field in their season opener against Harrison County. Tonight, we show everyone why our school district and community is a District of Distinction!

Again, security will be increased; therefore, we encourage everyone to arrive early, as additional protocols will be in place. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Above all, continue to reach out to school and district administrators with information that pertains to school safety.

Our Journey Continues…
