Dear Fleming Countians,
The new Fleming County Schools website is designed for students, teachers, staff members, parents/guardians and the community. The website is the information center for the district. As you may notice, the district’s homepage has undergone an extensive remodel. During the 2016-2017 school year, the district met with several parents, teachers, staff and community members to collect feedback on the information they felt should be posted on the district’s homepage. Using this feedback, the information anchored on the website garnered the most support and interest. To be clear, we listened to our people, parents, and community, as we wanted to create a site that was used extensively by all.
The site’s design is aligned to the district’s Strategic Framework, which will help users to understand the district's long-term goals and priorities. The creation of the website was very much a collaborative effort, and we are very proud of the result. We feel that the site captures the culture of the district and the district’s vision to become a “District of Distinction.”
Our ultimate goal is to make sure that the district’s new website is functional, straightforward and easy to use by all users. We feel that the site also provides users a portal into the district so that all stakeholders feel that they can be involved in the teaching and learning process. The new homepage offers a cleaner look to help you identify major sections and minimize scrolling. To improve engagement of stakeholders, the district also, based on the input from stakeholders, is creating a free app that can be downloaded. The district’s app will be an excellent addition to the many community news strategies that we currently use to keep the public and staff informed about the district’s happenings.
As the district continues to push the boundaries of the teaching and learning process so that ALL students are college, career, and life ready, we hope that all stakeholders will share in the district’s journey through our new web page. Thank you for lending your voice to encourage this endeavor. Also, thank you for your continued support of Fleming County Schools and our students. We are excited about the new homepage and trust the portal allows you to be part of our journey to become a District of Distinction.
Should you have any questions or suggestions regarding the district’s homepage or mobile app, please contact Mrs. Denise Brown, Chief Information Officer, at 606-845-5851 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Journey Continues…
