Dear Faculty and Staff,
The Fleming County Board of Education unanimously approved the implementation of the BRIDGE Performance Indicators (BPIs) on Monday, June 25, 2018, at the End-of-Year Called Board Meeting. I have provided you the link with all of the BPIs (Pre-K – 12th grade). You can access the BRIDGE Performance Indicators by (clicking here). The approval of the BPIs is a BIG moment for Fleming County Schools as we once again become one of the few school districts in Kentucky that are charting a new path for student success. I want to thank all of the teachers who helped to finalize the BPIs on June 1st – as it was one of the most attended district-wide professional learning days in recent memory. The level of collaboration was inspiring and empowering.
Starting July 1st, Michelle Hunt, the New Chief Academic Officer, will be working with ALL schools to implement the BRIDGE Performance Indicators fully. Please keep in mind that the 2018-2019 school year is a pilot year, with full implementation during the 2019-2020 school year. This year will be used to work out the kinks, identify how to record student success, and find additional ways to make the BPIs more personalized, relevant and rigorous.
The implementation of the BRIDGE Performance Indicators is a game-changer. The BPIs are performance-based activities that students, teachers, parents and the community have been requesting so that ALL students are college, career, and life ready. Though test scores remain essential in school accountability, the 21st-century skills that are embedded into ALL BPIs are vision critical to helping ALL students to become globally competitive. We look forward to unleashing student innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Our Journey Continues…
