AdvanceED: Standards for Quality

OVERVIEW

Fleming County Schools' Vision is to become a "District of Distinction." In an effort to align all district systems toward this goal, the district has adopted the new AdvancED Standards for Quality School Systems as our roadmap to reach our destination. The Standards for Quality School Systems assists the school district in remaining committed to strategic continuous improvement.

As we are committed to continuous improvement, we are equally committed to remaining transparent with our progress and growth as a school district. The district created this page to keep district stakeholders informed of the district's improvement processes, as well as, to provide an overview of the district's progress in becoming a "District of Distinction."

The district's work will be guided by AdvancED's Standards for Quality: School Systems. AdvancED's research outlines 5 standards that are essential to creating a quality system that includes: Purpose and Direction; Governance and Leadership; Teaching and Assessing for Learning; Resources and Support Systems; and Using Results for Continuous Improvement. AdvancED provides school districts standards for creating a quality school system. As can be determined by the diagram below, teaching and assessing for learning (teaching and learning), is at the center of the standards. Though teaching and learning is the focal point, no one standard is complete without considering all five standards as a continous system.
