Attention Student-Athletes, Parents, and Guardians:
Once again during the 2018-2019 school year, Fleming County Schools will randomly drug test student athletes. During the 2017-2018 school year, approximately 150 student-athletes were randomly selected to participate in the drug-testing process. We are proud to say that NO student-athlete failed any drug test that was administered throughout three athletic seasons. Students are randomly selected by a third-party vendor outside of Fleming County to ensure a reliable random selection of students. Fleming County Schools is committed to helping ALL student-athletes to make healthy decisions that ultimately affect their academics.
We encourage students, parents, and guardians to review board policies 09.313 and 09.423 as both pertain to athletics and the new drug testing policy approved by the Fleming County Board of Education. Students who participate in any school-sponsored athletic program at the middle school or high school will be required to take part in the random drug testing process. Random drug testing is not optional.
Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. John Elliott, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Fleming County High School, or Mr. Jordan Fritz, Assistant Principal at Simons Middle School. We look forward to the many upcoming athletic seasons during the 2018-2019 school year. Go Panthers!
Our Journey Continues…
