I have taught music for 21 years, all of which have been with the Fleming County school system. Throughout those years, I have worn many hats including: 4th Grade Recorder Class Instructor, 6th Grade Band and Choir Instructor, FCHS choir accompanist, FCHS academic team assistant coach, an adjunct teacher at Kentucky Christian University, an independent contractor for Kentucky Educational Television, and a musician at several local churches. I have dabbled with teaching Spanish, Art, Drama, as well as Computer Lab. I am a member of the American Choral Director's Association and Kentucky Music Educator's Association, where I currently serve as the state chair for Special Needs Populations in music classrooms. I obtained my Bachelors degree from Transylvania University, My Masters from Morehead State University and my Rank 1 through obtaining National Board Certification. I am an avid enthusiast for arts integration, and have spent much of my life's work dedicated to not only delivering cross-curricular lesson plans within my own room, but also inspiring and helping teachers find ways to integrate the arts within their lesson plans. My page includes all of the lesson plans I use within a school year, some photos of my students in action, a few of the PD powerpoints I have used as a facilitator and my CTEPS project (Classroom Teachers Enacting Positive Solutions).
