I am not originally from this area but was drawn here because of the beautiful farm land and kind people. I was born and raised in Louisa, a small eastern Kentucky town where I graduated in 1994.I attended Eastern Kentucky University and Ashland Community College in 2005 where I later earned my degree in English Teaching. I earned my Masters in Education in 2011 from Morehead State University. In 2014 I earned my Rank 1 in Educational Teachnology also from Morehead State University. I am married to John Halsey in which we have one son, Sam who is 7 years old and in the second grade. We also have two dogs Charlie a chow/golden mix , Leo a white German Shepherd, and one cat Mr.Peabody. Since I was a small child I have wanted to teach. My mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were all teachers, I guess you could say it is in my blood. I love reading and exploring literature therefore it makes sense that I teach English, plus I have over 2,300 books in my home. I enjoy singing, dancing, and 5K's. Besides teaching English I have also taught drama, which I enjoyed very much.
