FCHS Principal Selection

Fleming County Schools would like to announce that Stephanie Emmons has been named principal of Fleming County High School. Stephanie brings a wealth of talents and skills that will be a great addition to all the positive things occurring at the school. She is excited and ready to begin. We would like to thank the FCHS teacher leader team for their work over the spring and summer in the principal search process. The input from the teacher leaders proved to be invaluable to the search committee.

Also, Sara Sexton, from Greenup County Schools, will be joining the FCHS staff as the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specialist. She also brings a lot of skills and ideas to the school and will be an asset. Many of you have already met Sara, as she hit the ground running this week. Other position announcements will be made later this week.  We are excited about all the great things occurring on FCHS’ journey to becoming a “School of Distinction.” We expect great things from Fleming County High School in 2015-2016. Go Panthers!

FCS Summer Feeding Program

Fleming County Schools is pleased to announce our participation in the Summer Feeding Program.  The Summer Feeding Program will be located at Fleming County High School. Breakfast and lunch will be offered for football, girls’ and boys’ basketball, volleyball, and band camps. The district will also be serving the Fleming County Public Library programs and the Fleming County Extension Office programs, along with any child from 2 to 18 years old who would like to come to the site to eat. This is a huge benefit and service, not only to Fleming County Schools but to the greater Fleming County community. Any child from ages 2 to 18 years old will eat free at any of the open sites. This program is part of the Federal School Lunch Program and all costs will be reimbursed by the Federal Government. Plans are already underway to offer more lunch sites for Summer 2016, with the possibility of making the Summer Feeding Program mobile to reach more of the district’s and county’s youth.
