Dear Fleming Countians:
Based on data released by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the Kentucky Department of Public Health, the Flu has landed in Kentucky. The school district is closely monitoring the Flu this year and will continue to do so over the next several weeks. We encourage parents and guardians if your child has Flu-like symptoms to contact your child’s healthcare provider immediately. If your child is sick with flu symptoms, CDC recommends that they stay home for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. The child’s fever should be gone for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
If you need assistance, you can also contact your child’s school nurse. CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses.
We need to be proactive this school year, especially with the Flu, so that we protect students, faculty, and staff, and prevent the spread of the Flu into homes and throughout the Fleming County community.
