FCS Public Service Announcement: School Threat

October 27, 2019

Dear Fleming Countians,

I want to inform you there was a social media incident in which a student made a specific threat about a shooting at Fleming County High School.

The student who made the threat has been identified and we are working closely with the Flemingsburg City Police and the County Attorney in regards to the next steps. There is NO immediate danger to students at Fleming County High School or any other school at this time. The school district will be following school district disciplinary procedures as it pertains to this specific school threat.

To be clear, all threats, direct or indirect, are serious. We continue to encourage anyone who sees something suspicious, be it in person or online, to promptly report it to school officials or local law enforcement. I want to thank the parent and student who immediately notified district officials when this social media post appeared online.

The safety of all students and staff is our highest priority.

Respectfully,

Brian K. Creasman
Superintendent
