Dear Fleming Countians,
Tiffany Lane, the Student Service Liaison at Fleming County High School, has been named the new Director of Special Education. Tiffany will be replacing Melissa James, who will retire on December 1, 2019. She will remain at Fleming County High School as the district works with the school to help transition the Student Service Liaison position.
A team comprised of two district administrators, a principal and a special education teacher, interviewed applicants and made the recommendation for Mrs. Lane, based on her commitment to students in Fleming County and her knowledge of special education. We are pleased that we were able to hire from within for this position and look forward to our continued success and growth in the area of special education. Tiffany brings experience, energy and excellent strategies to the position that will help to serve all students in Fleming County.
I would also like to thank Melissa James for her dedication to Fleming County. Her years of service have not gone unnoticed. Fleming County Schools is recognized as a leader in special education throughout Kentucky, thanks to Melissa’s leadership. We would also like to recognize Melissa for her leadership in starting the preschool program in the district. Over the past couple of years, starting from scratch, Melissa led the establishment of an excellent program for students and families in Fleming County. We wish her well in retirement and will miss her vast knowledge of special education and preschool.
Our Journey Continues…
