Dear Fleming Countians,
This morning, I was notified of a student at Simons Middle School who tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day at school was on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. As a result, the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team will need to quarantine. Additionally, practice and games have been paused until further notice. The school staff has already reached out to parents/guardians of students who will need to quarantine, as well as, staff who will need to quarantine. Though we must quarantine the basketball team, Simons Middle School will remain on a normal schedule. The final determination of who will need to quarantine and for what length of time each student and staff member may be updated when the Fleming County Health Department completes official contact tracing.
As a reminder, we encourage everyone to monitor their daily health for any new symptoms, no matter how minor the symptoms may be. If new symptoms develop, please contact Nurse Applegate at Fleming County High School so she can assist you. By working together, we can protect everyone and keep in-person classes in operation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by calling 606-845-5851 or via email at brian.creasman@fleming.kyschools.us.
Respectfully,
Brian K. Creasman
Superintendent
