FCS Press Release: Positive COVID-19 Student Cases at FES

Press Release

Dear Fleming Countians,

Last evening, I was notified of two additional students who tested positive for COVID-19 at Flemingsburg Elementary School. School staff have started calling students and staff who will need to quarantine this morning. I apologize for the inconvenience of this last-minute announcement. We continue to follow all COVID-19 protocols that were implemented back in the fall. Students who are indoors must continue to wear a face covering, sanitize their hands, and practice social distancing. Furthermore, we continue to clean classrooms, restrooms, and other common areas at least every two hours, if not more.

Currently, I’m working closely with the FC Health Department and Nurse Applegate to fully understand the current COVID-19 cases, any possible connections, and how to move forward. We will release additional information later today once I’ve had a chance to review the most up-to-date information and after speaking with Mrs. Manning.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by calling 606-845-5851 or via email at brian.creasman@fleming.kyschools.us.

Respectfully,

Brian K. Creasman
Superintendent
