FCS Press Release: School Closure - Flu

School Closure

For Immediate Release: 

Due to high rates of student and staff illness, Fleming County Schools will be closed from Thursday, November 3rd through Tuesday, November 8th. To be clear, this is a traditional school closure, not NTI.  During this time, all schools will receive proper deep cleaning to help mitigate further spread of viruses. To further ensure that we are not spreading illness, there will be no extracurricular activities, except for the Academic Team and Varsity Football as those events cannot be changed due to regional requirements. I encourage all students and staff to take this time to rest, recuperate, and regain strength to finish the fall semester. 

The district will determine how/when these days will be made up at a later date and will communicate this information as soon as it is available.
