FCS Press Release: Principal at Fleming County High School PSA

Dear Fleming Countians,

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the SBDM at Fleming County High School met to discuss the principal position. Last spring, the SBDM voted unanimously to appoint Austin Hart, as interim Principal, until a permanent principal could be appointed. Based on discussions with the SBDM this week and Mr. Hart’s performance since being named interim, the SBDM and I had no reservations in removing the interim status, and allowing me to name Mr. Hart, principal of Fleming County High School effective immediately.

WES Transition Update (March 13, 2023)

Dear Fleming Countians,

As an update, Mrs. Plank, Mrs. Manning, and Mr. Leet have successfully met twice since the announcement was made to close E.P. Ward Elementary School by June 1st. They have made progress; however, the plans are still fluid, and no decisions have been made. The next step is to involve parents/guardians at E.P. Ward Elementary School to get their input and feedback. This Wednesday, district administrators will be at E.P. Ward discussing the transition with faculty and staff individually. Again, as I have mentioned several times since last week, we need everyone's help to make sure that E.P. Ward Elementary students and staff transition to HES or FES smoothly and safely by the start of school in August.

Again, thank you for your help and your continued support.

Brian K. Creasman
Superintendent
Fleming County Schools
