One Question, One Answer - Face Coverings Face Coverings

July 8, 2020

Will face coverings be required next school year?

Over the past several weeks, the district has been reviewing guidelines released from several agencies regarding reopening schools in the fall. As we are now in the second week of July, everyone is anxiously awaiting to see exactly what the protocols and safety procedures are for students and staff. As more of the guidelines become finalized, school districts are able to solidify plans for communication to students, staff, and parents/guardians. The question on everyone’s mind is whether students will be required to wear face masks at school.

FCS Fleming County Performance Academy (Virtual) Enrollment Fleming County Schools Logo

Fleming County Schools is currently enrolling students into the Fleming County Performance Academy for the 2020-2021 school year. The FC Performance Academy is a free, virtual option and open to all students in Fleming County. This program, which has been available to students for the past two years, provides students a unique learning experience. FCPA is an innovative approach to learning that is recognized across Kentucky and other states as a model for public education. This year, we are fully prepared to expand student enrollment in FCPA due to COVID-19 based on stakeholder feedback. If you are concerned about sending your child to a traditional school setting in the fall due to COVID-19, you are encouraged to enroll your child/children in FCPA and still continue to learn with a Fleming County teacher through a virtual learning platform. Our goal is to meet the learning needs and goals of ALL of our students, especially during this time of COVID-19.

Coronavirus Update No. 4

Coronavirus Update No. 4

March 20, 2020

Dear Fleming Countians,

Thank you so much for your support of our students, teachers, staff, and the district during the school closure. As we move into Week 2, I want to stress how important it is to model what Governor Beshear and President Trump continue to encourage: remote learning/working and social distancing. If you do not need to go anywhere, please stay home. Acceptable reasons to go places include purchasing groceries/food, prescriptions, medical care, going to the bank, and purchasing supplies for livestock and crops. This is not the time for sleepovers, family reunions, or other communal events.
