Fleming County Schools to Close September 10 in Memory of Student
FLEMINGSBURG, KY — With deep sadness, Fleming County Schools announces that there will be no school for students on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, as our community mourns the loss of Simons Middle School student Lindsey Marshall.
The day will be observed as a staff workday, allowing faculty, staff, students, and families to attend Lindsey’s funeral and grieve together as a community.
“Moments like this remind us of the importance of compassion, unity, and support for one another,” said Superintendent Brian Creasman. “We hope this time allows our community to honor Lindsey’s life and stand beside her family, friends, and loved ones.”
To preserve instructional time, the missed school day will be made up on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, which was previously scheduled as a staff workday.
Fleming County Schools thanks the community for its understanding and asks for continued prayers for the Marshall family and all those impacted.
